Fall Fest 2012 Dates and Prizes Announced!

WHOO HOO! Fall Fest is fast approaching!

An event that has lasted since 2007, Fall Fest is a time when Webkinz World players everywhere can celebrate Autumn! Though it originally was an October event, from 2008 onward it has taken place in September. The basic gist of the Fest is that you can log in to your WW account and search for leaves, which float periodically across your screen, which, when clicked on, will give you a special prize! Every year, a few new prizes are introduced, and some from previous years are brought back, while some prizes may never return again. Some prizes are rarer than others, and from food to furniture, from decorations to hats, boots, and coats, all of them are fall-based!

2012 Prizes

These are the new prizes for this year!

There's a basket of logs, a coat, a pile of leaves, donuts, a basket of apples, a log cabin (unknown size), and a potted tree. Their names haven't been announced (except for the Maple Donuts and Apple Basket), nor do we know of what prizes from previous years will be available.WKN only mentions that "some old favorites" will return.
That giant Orchard Apple Tree is a potential prize if you feed your pet some Fall Fest Fudge! This Fudge costs eStore points, and potentially gives regular 2012 Fall Fest Prizes upon being fed to your pet as well. Wait, wait, wait. How do you explain that you found a cabin in a piece of Fudge?
The Orchard Apple Tree gives your pet an Apple a day. Unknown about the effect this will have on doctors.

When is Fall Fest 2012?

It lasts from September 14 to September 22 this year. 

This is actually 2 days longer than the usual 6-day Fests we've seen for the past 4 years!
Somewhat ironically, Fall Fest this year ends on the day Fall begins.

Are there limits on how many leaves you can catch?

Yes.

Edit: Contrary to my previous assumption, leaves fall on the 14th thru the 16th, not the 14th and the 16th. This means 10 extra leaves! Woo hoo~

On Friday, September 14, Sunday, Saturday, September 15th, September 16th, and Saturday, September 22, you may catch 10 leaves per day.
From Monday, September 17, to Friday, September 21, you may catch 5 leaves per day.
"But that's not fair!"
Hear me out for a sec.
There are 4 days of 10 leaves to catch, then 4 days of 5 leaves to catch. 4x10=30. 4x5=20. 30+30=60. That's 60 decorations, clothes, foodstuffs, and furniture, some of which is really cool, to collect! Double, or even triple, that amount if you have multiple accounts, and you can throw one heck of a party.

What else is there besides leaves in Webkinz World?

Well, knowing WKN, they'll probably start up a Peek-A-Newz for extra prizes. Or an ad hunt! Look at that. From September 14-22, Webkinz fans can search around WKN for these ads:

Clicking on them will give you a prize from Fall Fest! It is unknown what will be available.
Also, during Fall Fest is a Midnight Monster Click-To-Win that lasts until September 26. Every day gives a surprise!
The eStore usually sells special items for the event, such as scarecrows, mills, tractors, and I think they have an applesauce making device?

Play the actually challenging (it takes forever to find those articles they send you to search for!) School Time Terrier Treasure Hunt, the prize for which is, well, a School Time Terrier figurine. This isn't for Fall Fest, but is Fall-related, and goes on until October 2. You can also do the Chillin' Out Polar Bear Treasure Hunt, whose prize I leave you to guess, but hurry--it ends when Fall Fest begins!

Guess What? Another Challenge Has Been Added!

This challenge is called the Healthy Harvest Challenge, and will run from November 12 to December 2, 2011.
Unlike previous challenges, you can do this challenge before finishing the Key to Kinzville Quest!

Halloween Arrives in Webkinz World!

Players logging into their accounts today should find their Halloween gifts waiting for them in their docks. 

Unless you have an Asian account; if this is the case, Halloween was yesterday. 

I won't post pictures of the Halloween Gifts until tomorrow, so nobody has the surprise ruined for them. 

Now, for more details on Halloween in Webkinz World...

• The Halloween Theme will be available until November 7, 2011. After that date, all items in the theme will disappear until next Halloween. As with any seasonal theme, there is no way to tell what will return next year and what won't, so stock up now!
• The Halloween Mission continues until November 5.
• The Clubhouse Ghost will cease to appear after today, so if you don't have your Jack-O'-Lantern yet, go and get the rest of the candy. The time has been shortened to a 1 hour wait between candies, so if you already got a few candies, then it shouldn't take too long. 
• For some reason, the Super Wheel, which has appeared in previous Halloweens since 2009, decided not to show up this year. Alas.

The Ghost returning to the Webkinz Clubhouse

 The Ghost has returned to the Clubhouse.

Every Halloween, a Ghost will appear in the Clubhouse. The way this works is that you just hang out in one room (or hop from room to room like a frog playing hopscotch, if you prefer) and eventually, the Ghost will appear. Click on him when he does show up, and he'll give you a piece of candy. Upon collecting 12 pieces of candy, the player is rewarded with a Jack-O'-Lantern they can carve and display in their WW room. In 2010, Spooky the Mazin' Hamster replaced the Ghost, but for 2011, the Ghost is giving the candy.

In past years, a piece of candy could be collected once every three hours, and the time limit would shorten as the days neared to Halloween. This year, it appears that the programmers can't decide what the time limit is--some people can collect multiple pieces of candy at a time, others must wait one hour between candies, others must wait three. Ganz has acknowledged this issue and has reported that they are investigating it.
Edit: It appears that the limit is sticking strictly to 3 hours between candies.


If you don't want to wait for the candy, you may buy the pieces at 1,000 eStore points (1$) apiece. It will take 36 hours to get all 12 pieces of candy if you get each piece one after the other.

One of the December 2011 Webkinz pets has been revealed at Webkinz Newz.

This pet is called the "Darling Dino", and...I have nothing more I wish to add to this. Here, have a picture.

There's a new Click-To-Win at Webkinz Newz. 

In this Click-To-Win, you search for Spooky the Mazin' Hamster's head floating around Webkinz Newz. 

As always, one prize per account per day, and some prizes are rarer than others. Spooky will be flying October 20-31, and not on October 22, 25, or 29.

Fall Fest Has Begun!

Huzzah for Fall Fest!

 Before I continue, there have been a few changes to this year's Fall Fest.

1. Once you catch 15 leaves, they will stop flying. They resume flying at midnight Eastern Time.

2. In previous years, leaves may fly every 8 minutes. This year, leaves are guaranteed to fly once every 9-10 minutes.  

3. In previous years, leaves flew from left to right. This year, they pick a random direction once you log in and continue to fly that way until you log out again. This direction can be from left to right, right to left, or from top to bottom.

Now that you know the changes, let's move on to some tips and tricks for Fall Fest!

1. Go to the Contact Us page in the newspaper. The completely white background will make the leaves stand out, and there's hardly anything else to accidentally click on.

2. Some leaves are stubborn, and will fly right on by no matter how many times you click. Be patient, and wait for the next leaf. 

3. Even with the 15-leaf-a-day limit, you'll get 105 prizes by the end of Fall Fest if you visit daily and reach the limit.

4. It takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to get 15 leaves, if you catch every one. 

5. If you end up with so many prizes that you don't know what to do with them, set aside a room for them.

This is what I do for Fall Fest and Winter Fest, and they turn out beautifully.

6. If you get bored just sitting there, waiting for leaves, then open another page in a window on top of the one WW is in. Adjust the size of the new window so that you can see both it and Webkinz World.

7. The leaves might be flying by too quickly to catch. If this is the case, keep a high-quality video running in another window. This should slow WW down considerably, making those leaves easy to catch.

8. Don't wait in your WW house to catch leaves. For some reason, they completely ignore you there.

Fall Fest Dates Announced!

Fall Fest came early this year!

"What's Fall Fest?" You may be wondering. Well, if you are wondering, then read this little bit of history, if not, then carry on.

Fall Fest is an event that has occurred for a week every Autumn since 2007. During Fall Fest, leaves will occasionally float across the screen. Click on the leaf, and you will receive a unique Fall Fest prize. 

Some prizes stay from the previous year, and some are taken so that new ones can be added. There are clothing items, food items, and even furniture items to be won, and there is no limit to the leaves you can catch daily, so sit back and have fun!
