And for Webkinz fans who use the eStore, it has been announced that for the entire month of May, the virtual-only Emerald Puppy will be for sale! Not only that, but those who purchase this pet first made available in 2010 will get a free Emerald Dragster!

And from this segment of the advertisement, it looks like the rest of the Birthstone Puppies will be available somehow during their respective months this year, too!

Ganz Reveals June 2012 List of Pets

Ganz has announced the plush Webkinz pets for June 2012, along with the July POTM.

June is going to be a rather meager month, with 2 Webkinz and 1 signature being released. And here they are...

The Summer Beaver, which is basically a pink, bipedal beaver with orange dots.

Can I make a small complaint for a second? They really need to learn how to adjust their camera settings. It just makes the Beaver look neon./endcomplaint
Moving on to our second pet, which is the Cocoa Lab.

Do not get this confused with the Chocolate Lab! The Chocolate Lab was released in 2009, is retired, has its Magic W on its back right paw, and looks like this:

That's my Lab, BTW. Her name's Ella.

The Signature for June is the Ragdoll Cat!

Simply gawgeous, dahling.

And July's POTM is the Puckerfish. what

Also, the Yellow Fluffy Cub and Tyrannosaurus, two new virtual pets, have been officially revealed on Webkinz Newz. (and it turns out that I was right, the T-Rex's PSI is named Amber Armchair)

The T-rex comes with an Amber Armchair PSI, and Gigantic Jawbreaker PSF.

The Yellow Fluffy Cub comes with a Totally Fun Toy Box PSI and Honeycomb Porridge PSF.

All Day Activity for POTM Reindeer Owners, for some reason

Webkinz World players who check the Daily Activities page should find that there is an all day activity, Bonus Token Balloon Darts, for those who own the POTM, the Reindeer.
The only problem with this is that the Reindeer was December 2011's POTM. The current Pet of the Month is the Grey Langur, for which no activities have appeared for today. 

Perhaps this is the result of an error in coding that caused a lineup of events in December to appear today. Or it could be intentional, as I participated in the event without any errors. Maybe this is something Ganz has prepared for the upcoming months--allowing a day for the previous POTM? I find it to be rather strange, what do you think?

The Coolest Thing Is Everything Rapping Contest

Ganz has just announced a new contest.

Here is the official article, and Here are the official rules.  

This contest is about the newest POTM video, "The Coolest Thing is Everything". A little while ago, Ganz posted a video of Webkinz employees rapping the song, and now they want Webkinz fans to join in!
To enter this contest, do the following things:

1. Download the instrumental version of "The Coolest Thing is Everything" from the article. (the link is found above; while you're at it you can watch the Webkinz employees rap too!)
2. Write your own lyrics to match the beat of the song! (there must be at least one verse in your song, otherwise it will be deemed as incomplete.)
3. Record a video rapping your version of the song! Remember, you cannot use any kind of music in your video. The instrumental is just required so you can keep to the beat. To keep to the beat without music, just wear headphones, or keep the music playing on a very low volume.

Now, for the prize...
Five winners will be chosen. They will win 10,000 KinzCash for the account of their choice, and ten Webkinz Plush pets!
The winners will be given their prizes within 30 days of winning the contest.
On top of that, the winning videos will be put together and remixed, then the completed video will be posted to Webkinz Newz, the Webkinz Newz Parent Club, and the official Webkinz YouTube Channel. 

The rules to this contest are, basically:

1. The entry submission date is from October 21st to November 21st, 2011. 
2. The submission must be in the form of a rap video, posted on YouTube in the form of a video reply to the contest video.
3. Submissions will be judged by creativity and quality.
4. The submission may not infringe any content that infringes copyrights.
5. The submission must contain original lyrics that the entrant wrote themselves.
6. The submission may not contain any inappropriate content.
7. This contest is open to residents of the USA and Canada, excluding the states of New York and Florida and the Providence of Quebec.
8. Only one entry is allowed per person.
9. Entries will be rejected if they are incomplete, submitted after the deadline, break the rules, or the entrant has submitted an entry more than once.
10. If the entrant wins, they must provide a valid address to have the Webkinz sent to within 30 days. They must provide a valid Webkinz World account for the 10,000 KinzCash within 30 days.

  The Week of Pink Click-To-Win is running again.
As you may know, the Week of Pink Click-To-Win at Webkinz Newz was cancelled due to some technical difficulties. Now these issues are resolved, and Molly will be flying at Webkinz Newz from October 12 to October 19, 2011. She will not be flying on the 15th. 

Wednesday Updates October 12 2011

The POTM Video for the Walrus has been revealed.
This video is called "The Coolest Thing is Everything", and its Video Challenge Prize is the Walrus Wall Panel. 
Beware however, as the Walrus Wall Panel is glitched. It appears as a blank space in your dock. Putting it in your room locks you out of that room. 


In speaking of which, apparently placing the Cold Flames Cauldron in a room also locks you out of the room.
To continue playing in your WW house, simply log back in, then switch to any pet who is not in the room that the glitched item is in.

A new game is in the Arcade!
This game is called "Hoppy Rocket Ship". From Webkinz Newz:

"There’s a brand new game in the Webkinz World Arcade and we know you’re going to love it! In fact, this just may be the wackiest games we’ve ever made. In Hoppy Little Rocketship, your pet will ride through the skies in a cardboard rocket, bouncing on chickens and turkeys, trying to reach the end. Pick up power ups along the way and avoid the clouds! It’s time to visit the Arcade and get hoppy!"

Specially Tagged Pink Poodle Adoptions to Support the Susan G. Komen Foundation

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Last year, Ganz made the Pink Poodle the POTM for October, and released it in a special packaging to raise cancer awareness.

 A portion of the proceeds from the each Pink Poodle sold was donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation. Ganz also agreed to donate a minimum of 100,000 dollars to the foundation.

Ganz still has plans for this year:

 During the month of October, when you purchase a Pink Poodle wearing a special tag (shown above) Ganz will donate a minimum of 2$ to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (in the US).

In Canada, these specially tagged Poodles will be available through the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation at various fund-raising events.

 Nikki Yanofsky, a teen jazz-pop artist who performed at the Winter 2010 Olympics, has recorded a version of "I Dream In Pink", the MP3 of which can be downloaded for free when you adopt a Pink Poodle with the special tag. This makes her the first celebrity to record a Webkinz POTM song!

October's POTM Sings "Scaredy Cat"

The song and music video for October's POTM, the Black Cat, was released at Webkinz Newz today, here.
 In this song, the Black Cat's friends (the Pom Pom Kitty from "Cats & Dogs", Caramel Lion from "Caramel Soup", and the Yellow Chick from "It's A Beautiful Day") are all freaked out by the Halloween decorations, so the Black Cat tells them, "don't be scared, dance your fears away!" and they proceed to dance, Thriller style.

The Video Challenge for this video has 5 questions instead of the usual 3.
The prize is a Floppy Purple Witch Hat (NOT to be confused with the Purple Witch Hat, from Halloween 2005.)

Ganz Changes November POTM from Domino Cat to Walrus

As you may have noticed if you stopped by or are a member of Webkinz Insider, the Domino Cat was supposed to be the POTM for November.

Well, today Ganz announced that there was an error in the system, and that there is now a change:

The Pet of the Month for November is not the Domino Cat, it is the Walrus.

This is a very irresponsible mistake of Ganz, made even more so by the fact that they changed the POTM several weeks after it was announced!

The October 2011 POTM is the Webkinz Black Cat. 
This is the first time in Webkinz history that a Seasonal pet has been made the Pet of the Month!

There will be a new Curio Shop Only theme soon!

Coming soon to the Curio Shop, the Neo-Gothic theme is a beautiful bold black and pink colored arrangement of intricately illustrated interior design. 

There is a new Click-To-Win event at Webkinz Newz! 

On August 31 and September 1st and 2nd, go to Webkinz Newz and catch the floating Tour Van to win a Spree Dirt Road tile. One prize per account per day.

On September 4, catch the same van for a Red Road Trip Hat. On September 5, the prize is a Red Road Trip Tee Shirt. One prize per account per day. These are the last Road Trip prizes for the year, so catch them while you can!

The Treasure Hunt begins today, August 31, and ends September 30, 2011.

Share Center at Webkinz Newz+Rooster POTM Music Video!

People browsing through the Webkinz Newz today may notice a new section--the Share Center.

This is where you can upload pictures of your Webkinz World rooms and submit them for all to see, kind of like the Share Mazes section of Mazin' Hamsters, where you submit your mazes for others to play in.

You may only upload a picture in a .JPG, .GIF, or .PNG format. You may only upload a picture while you're logged into your WKN account. 

After submitting a room, you will be sent an E-mail notifying you that your room is being reviewed. Once they have verified that your room is indeed a picture of a room in Webkinz World, it will be put on the site and you will also be notified of this, complete with a link to where your room is on WKN.

Also, the POTM Music Video for the Rooster has shown up. So far, no Video Challenge prize has been added, but we'll give it a day or three. For some reason, it's not loading in WKN, but you can watch it at Music Starz in Webkinz World.
