New Theme Added to W-Shop: Beach House Theme

In yesterday's Wednesday update, a new and completely unexpected theme was added to the W-Shop! Behold: The Beach House theme!

The Beach House theme brings a refreshing and simple atmosphere to the room, using only two shades of brown, teal, white, and blue, with occasional golden and turquoise accents. The furniture is all weathered, but clean. Can't you just smell the sea salt in the air?

The theme contains the following items thus far:

Beach House Wallpaper/Flooring: 250 KC each
Weathered Wood End Table: 280 KC
Weathered Wood Coffee Table: 440 KC
Porthole Barrel Hot Tub: 750 KC
Beach House Striped Chair: 350 KC
Beach House Striped Couch: 550 KC
Total cost:  2,870 KC


The next half of the theme should be in by the next Wednesday update on August 1, but in the meantime, you could try adding the classic Blue Striped Bed/Table/Dresser to the room, or maybe mixing it with the Green Leaf theme, which is already meant to be part of a cabana resort, for a sort of a water/earth feel. Experiment!

Wednesday Updates 7/18/12

The Berry Festival begins today!

As you may have heard from Webkinz Newz, today marks the beginning of the Berry Festival! This festival starts today, July 18, and ends on July 29.

During this festival, the following events will occur:

• Floating berries in Webkinz World! Wait for one to fly across the screen, then click on it for a delicious Berry. They actually fly by rather quickly and closely in between, and there are different ones each time they fly! (just take note; they fly by while playing Jumbleberry Fields, too, and if you click on one there expect a 5 minute Please Wait...break)

• Floating berries in Webkinz Newz, too! Here's their schedule; a new one flies each day in a cycle of Polar Berry, Jumbleberry, Sugarberry, Goo-Goo Berry, Pickleberry, and Moonberry. This click-to-win runs until July 29!
• They also moved Jumbleberry Fields to the top of the list of Arcade games.

Jumbleberry Fields finally received an update!

You can now buy Bonus Plays.

One bonus play costs 1.50$, 3 bonus plays cost 3.00$. (in eStore points)

You can choose your own prizes now, and they added new prizes!

IT IS A GOOD DAY
No more will Webkinz World players have to wonder if they just spent the last month collecting Moonberries just to receive a duplicate prize! No longer will their Jumbleberry-themed room go unfinished because of a wrong prize! And in fact, they can add to those rooms, because there are new prizes!
Not only that, but you can see what prizes there are, too! Once you complete your daily play of Jumbleberry Fields and are taken to your collection of jars, you can click on the "Show Prizes!" button. Then click on any jar to see what prizes you can get from it!

"What do you do at the Webkinz Road Trip?"
Lots of things! The events seem to change with each stop the Van makes, but we do know that there are Zumbuddy tosses, Mazin' Hamster Pachinko, Hula Hoop contests, a Hug a Pug dance, Webkinz Trivia, and  a lot more! You can get prizes from almost everything, and people who have gone have brought back at least a couple of boxes of Webkinz plushes, Kinz Klips, Zums, stickers, and trading cards! If the event is held at a toy store, the store sometimes puts their Webkinz on discount for the event, and the van sells 5$ full-sized Webkinz, along with the month's new Webkinz pets, too!

Anonymous asks in regards to the Webkinz free demo accounts...
"I really want to know if you keep the trial pet."
I've had my account since March 22, and it and my Cat, Lettie, are doing fine. I am very much doubting that demo accounts expire, and I know that if you adopt a new pet onto it, that the account is granted full account privileges and you get to keep your Domestic Cat or Mutt.

Some Updates

November's CandyKinz pet is the Licorice Fish. 

This pet comes with a Taste Tester Fountain and some Gummy Guppies. Wait, it's a candy fish...that eats candy fish. O-o

Buy one before November 6 to get a Delectable Donut Chair.

The Velvety Elephant, Fox, and Husky are now Adventure Park pets. 
You must have adopted them after November 1 for the quests to work.

Halloween Arrives in Webkinz World!

Players logging into their accounts today should find their Halloween gifts waiting for them in their docks. 

Unless you have an Asian account; if this is the case, Halloween was yesterday. 

I won't post pictures of the Halloween Gifts until tomorrow, so nobody has the surprise ruined for them. 

Now, for more details on Halloween in Webkinz World...

• The Halloween Theme will be available until November 7, 2011. After that date, all items in the theme will disappear until next Halloween. As with any seasonal theme, there is no way to tell what will return next year and what won't, so stock up now!
• The Halloween Mission continues until November 5.
• The Clubhouse Ghost will cease to appear after today, so if you don't have your Jack-O'-Lantern yet, go and get the rest of the candy. The time has been shortened to a 1 hour wait between candies, so if you already got a few candies, then it shouldn't take too long. 
• For some reason, the Super Wheel, which has appeared in previous Halloweens since 2009, decided not to show up this year. Alas. 

Wednesday Updates: October 26, 2011

Webkinz Newz has released the image for the Fabled Goose.

As in, Mother Goose. Note the music note shaped watermelon seeds.

 This new pet is a contest-prize-only pet, exclusive to the Parent Club, which is hosting four contests for a chance to win this pet. The Fabled Goose comes with a Story Time Throne and some Sing Along Snacks for dinner. You must be 18 or older to participate in these contests.
This pet is the third contest-prize-only pet, the first two being the Silk Sparrow and the Sparkling Pegasus, and the Fabled Goose is so far the only pet of its kind to be Parent Club exclusive.


Five new recipes have been added to the Clothing Machine.
These recipes are the Super Funky Hoodie, the Rockin' Fringe Vest, the Dazzling Neon Tutu, the Racecar Driver Outfit, and the Pretty Plaid Gown.  The images for the Racecar Driver Outfit and the Pretty Plaid Gown are currently nowhere to be found, but we can bring you the images of the first three outfits.

I am quite fond of that tutu. I bet it will match wonderfully with the Hoodie!

There is a new theme at the W-Shop. 
This theme is the "Aquatic Expedition" theme, and can only be put in underwater rooms. (if you don't have an underwater room, you need to adopt a fish or other aquatic animal to be able to buy one.)

 What's really neat about this theme is that the pieces of it glow. So far, the only pieces of the theme that can be bought are:

Webkinz Adventure Park is now Open to All Pets

Ganz announced a few hours ago that they have allowed all pets to visit the Adventure Park!
Keep in mind though, this means that any pet can walk around and explore the Adventure Park, but you still need to have a Pink Pony, Chimpanzee, Mud Hippo, Spotted Frog, Koala, or Spotted Leopard that was adopted after August 17, 2011 to be able to do any quests.

Wednesday Updates September 28 2011

The rules for Spree! have changed.

Previously, when a player landed on a space for a shopping bag they already had, their turn was over.

Now, when landing on a shopping bag they already have, the player will be able to roll a special die, allowing them to move forwards or backwards, earn KinzCash, or even get a Shopping Bag they don't have!
 

Awesome!

There were quite a few updates this Wednesday in Webkinz World.


FIRST UP!

The eStore (the one already in WW) has been updated. 

You can now buy virtual Mazin' Hamsters, pets, charms and figurines directly from the eStore in Webkinz World. 

There's a new theme at the W-Shop!
Come to think of it, there's a new theme every month. 
Anyhow, this theme is the Super Fan Theme. 

I really do like the theme--it's like an upgraded version of the Trading Card themes. What do you think?

Now you can listen to the August 2011 Pet of the Month, the Rooster, sing "It's A Beautiful Day" at Webkinz Newz. Afterward, answer some trivia to win a Farmer's Wife Straw Hat for your pet. 

5 new recipes have been added. 
They are Mataruck-Lucks, Glopsrisma, Keeleebabs, Wanapaneer, and Worblewraps. 2 are made on the stove, 2 in the blender, and one on the sandwich maker. 

There are 5 new Adoption Exclusives at the Wish Factory. 
They are the Speedy Scooter, Enchanted Garden Fountain, Happily Ever After Cake, Wild Water Ski, and Bubble Wrap Chair. For some reason, however, the Bubble Wrap Chair only goes in underwater rooms, not indoor rooms. Ganz has stated that they are looking into the issue. 


In additional news, for some reason, the Yellow Springtime Chick is available at the eStore again. 
What is strange about this is that the Chick is a Seasonal eStore Pet, last sold in March 2011. Also, a Blue Springtime Chick and Purple Springtime Chick were for sale also. This time, just the Yellow Chick is for sale. 

And, last but not least...
The PSI and PSF for all the September 2011 Pets have been revealed!
In a surprise move, they are all revealed at the same time! 
First, the Brilliant Bandit...

SPREE!

Spree dice are flying in Webkinz Newz! If you find one of these dice flying around the site, click on it, fill in the form provided, and you'll be rewarded with an extra roll for the arcade game, Spree!
Players were commenting about Spree, saying how difficult it is to collect shopping credits and shopping bags. Well, no longer! Ganz plans to make it easier to gain credits and shopping bags during scheduled site maintenance on Wednesday. Players hope that they also plan to fix a glitch concerning the Giant Zingoz Plushie. It's described to be a chair, but players buying it discover that it's really just a plushie.
