Today is Webkinz Day!

Today, we celebrate 7 years of Webkinz World!

Players who log into their accounts today shall find a gift box in their dock...or not. Instead, a fairly large number of players are receiving two gift boxes instead of one. Upon clicking the button that allows you to see your full dock, the second gift box appears. It's unknown whether or not this is supposed to happen, or if it's just a glitch, but hey--double the gifts. The downside to this is that this means the Year 7 gifts might be worth a bit less for trading due to their increased quantity. I'm only going to open one gift box and see what happens to the other in a few weeks, but do whatever you want with your extra one.

Also, don't forget to spin the Super Wheel! This is an event that lasts all day, but it only appears on certain occasions, such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween (but not last year, for some reason) and Webkinz Day.

Spring Celebration Gift Baskets Arrive in Webkinz World

The Spring Celebration, Webkinz World's equivalent to Easter, has arrived today. Players logging into their accounts today only will find not only their daily Milk Chocolate Egg, but also a Springtime Celebration gift basket--check after the break to discover what's inside.

Webkinz World Spring Celebration to Return in 2012!

From March 31 to April 8, 2012, the Spring Celebration will run in Webkinz World! Every day this event takes place, log into your Webkinz World account to receive 1 Milk Chocolate Egg. And when you feed that egg to your pet, there is an 80% chance that you will be given an exclusive Spring Celebration object or clothing article! You can get another egg from the "Today's Activities" page, you can get a White Chocolate Egg from Webkinz Newz, and you can even buy them from the eStore (both the website and the one in Webkinz World).

Plus, on April 8, log into your WW account to get a Spring Celebration Gift Basket, which contains exclusive items as well!

The Spring Celebration is Webkinz World's way of celebrating Easter. Gift baskets have been given out to players who log in on Easter Sunday since 2006. Easter items have been added to the eStore since 2009. Virtual only pets have also been sold in the eStore for this event--the Spring Celebration Bunny was introduced in 2009, and then we've had Easter Triplets for each year since then: the Blue, Yellow, and Purple Springtime Chicks (2010), the Purple, Pink, and Blue Lambs (2011), and the Purple, Green, and Blue Lil' Piglets (2012).
There are Springtime seasonal pets, too, of course:

2008: Duck (became the POTM for March 2012)

There have even been Easter accessories for Webkinz! In 2009, there was the Powder Puff Carrier, which one could use to tote around a single Webkinz. Also in 2009 was the Bunny Hoody Outfit. For plushies, this hasn't been around since 2009, but it can be purchased anytime from Persephone's shop.
There's also an Easter Mazin' Hamster (Carrots) and a KinzKlip (a Lamb, sold as a set with a Webkinz Lamb plushie).

Wednesday Updates 29/2/12

In a minor note, the icon for the KinzChat phone is slightly edited. Now it turns completely grey when off, has a slightly more noticeable antenna, is slightly larger, and has a very small glow.

4. The Lorax gift boxes have arrived.
5. Webkinz World has begun a promotion for Mirror Mirror.

Valentine's Day Gift Boxes Arrive in Webkinz World

As usual, the Valentine's Day gift boxes have arrived in Webkinz World today. Check after the break if you would like to see what the gift box contains.

Webkinz World Runs Promotion for The Lorax

Webkinz Newz has announced that, starting on Feb. 16, a promotion for the new movie, The Lorax, will run through Webkinz World. Features of this promotion include:

• A Lorax-themed twist on the Arcade game, Where's Wacky
• A Lorax Click-To-Win event in Webkinz World from Feb. 18 to March 3, 2012, with exclusive prizes to be won
• Gift boxes awarded upon logging in on Feb. 29, March 1, and March 2
• The Adventure Park will be once again opened to Webkinz World Members, regardless of if they own an Adventure Park pet or not, for a special quest that is available from Feb. 16 until March 4. The only requirement is that your account has third-party content enabled. Otherwise, seeing as how this is a third-party promotion, your account will ignore the quest.

 The Christmas Theme has been released at the W-Shop.

Oh my. I must say that this year's Christmas theme is amazing! At longest last, we have been provided with play houses for Webkinz to play in...and at a very modest price, too!

This year's theme is called the Christmas Carol theme. It only goes outdoors or in treetop rooms, but the design uses these limits for a good purpose.

Also, a great piece of news for Webkinz players still on the Teacher's Pet challenge: The challenge "send your pet to recess", which can take a maximum of 15 days to do, has been changed to "feed your pet 10 apples". Huzzah! 

Of course, log in today to find your Thanksgiving Gift Basket and an Arthur Christmas gift!

 If it is November 24 in your account's time zone, you'll get this gift no matter when Thanksgiving is observed in your area. The Thanksgiving gift contains two food items: Chocolate Pecan Pie and Thanksgiving Dinner, and a furniture piece: Cornucopia Chair. The Arthur Christmas gift contains a letter to Santakinz (decoration), a chattering teeth toy (decoration) and a Candy Cane (food).

There are no clothing items in this year's basket, but don't distress! Webkinz Newz is holding a click-to-win for a Turkey hat on November 24, 25, 27, and 28. 

Kinectimals Prize Fixed!

The tech team at Ganz has fixed the Kinectimals log-in prize, huzzah! Players logging in today should find a shiny new green ATV to ride around on. Check after the break to see it in action!

Arthur Christmas Gift Boxes Arrive in North American Accounts

Webkinz World players in North America who log onto their accounts today will be pleasantly surprised to find an Arthur Christmas Gift Box waiting for them in their dock. This gift box is labeled "Arthur Christmas Gift Box 1"...does this mean that another one is on the way? We will have to wait and see.

The gift box contains (highlight the red box to find out) a Candy Cane (food), Knitted Sweater (clothes) and Elf Training Kit (decoration).

Halloween Arrives in Webkinz World!

Players logging into their accounts today should find their Halloween gifts waiting for them in their docks. 

Unless you have an Asian account; if this is the case, Halloween was yesterday. 

I won't post pictures of the Halloween Gifts until tomorrow, so nobody has the surprise ruined for them. 

Now, for more details on Halloween in Webkinz World...

• The Halloween Theme will be available until November 7, 2011. After that date, all items in the theme will disappear until next Halloween. As with any seasonal theme, there is no way to tell what will return next year and what won't, so stock up now!
• The Halloween Mission continues until November 5.
• The Clubhouse Ghost will cease to appear after today, so if you don't have your Jack-O'-Lantern yet, go and get the rest of the candy. The time has been shortened to a 1 hour wait between candies, so if you already got a few candies, then it shouldn't take too long. 
• For some reason, the Super Wheel, which has appeared in previous Halloweens since 2009, decided not to show up this year. Alas. 

Fijit Friends Gift

This is a clothing piece, called the Friendship Headband.

Players logging into their WW accounts today will find a gift waiting for them in their docks. This is part of the Fijit Friends promotion. Fijit Friends are a new slightly disconcerting robot toy being made by Mattel.
