Fall Fest 2012 Dates and Prizes Announced!

WHOO HOO! Fall Fest is fast approaching!

An event that has lasted since 2007, Fall Fest is a time when Webkinz World players everywhere can celebrate Autumn! Though it originally was an October event, from 2008 onward it has taken place in September. The basic gist of the Fest is that you can log in to your WW account and search for leaves, which float periodically across your screen, which, when clicked on, will give you a special prize! Every year, a few new prizes are introduced, and some from previous years are brought back, while some prizes may never return again. Some prizes are rarer than others, and from food to furniture, from decorations to hats, boots, and coats, all of them are fall-based!

2012 Prizes

These are the new prizes for this year!

There's a basket of logs, a coat, a pile of leaves, donuts, a basket of apples, a log cabin (unknown size), and a potted tree. Their names haven't been announced (except for the Maple Donuts and Apple Basket), nor do we know of what prizes from previous years will be available.WKN only mentions that "some old favorites" will return.
That giant Orchard Apple Tree is a potential prize if you feed your pet some Fall Fest Fudge! This Fudge costs eStore points, and potentially gives regular 2012 Fall Fest Prizes upon being fed to your pet as well. Wait, wait, wait. How do you explain that you found a cabin in a piece of Fudge?
The Orchard Apple Tree gives your pet an Apple a day. Unknown about the effect this will have on doctors.

When is Fall Fest 2012?

It lasts from September 14 to September 22 this year. 

This is actually 2 days longer than the usual 6-day Fests we've seen for the past 4 years!
Somewhat ironically, Fall Fest this year ends on the day Fall begins.

Are there limits on how many leaves you can catch?

Yes.

Edit: Contrary to my previous assumption, leaves fall on the 14th thru the 16th, not the 14th and the 16th. This means 10 extra leaves! Woo hoo~

On Friday, September 14, Sunday, Saturday, September 15th, September 16th, and Saturday, September 22, you may catch 10 leaves per day.
From Monday, September 17, to Friday, September 21, you may catch 5 leaves per day.
"But that's not fair!"
Hear me out for a sec.
There are 4 days of 10 leaves to catch, then 4 days of 5 leaves to catch. 4x10=30. 4x5=20. 30+30=60. That's 60 decorations, clothes, foodstuffs, and furniture, some of which is really cool, to collect! Double, or even triple, that amount if you have multiple accounts, and you can throw one heck of a party.

What else is there besides leaves in Webkinz World?

Well, knowing WKN, they'll probably start up a Peek-A-Newz for extra prizes. Or an ad hunt! Look at that. From September 14-22, Webkinz fans can search around WKN for these ads:

Clicking on them will give you a prize from Fall Fest! It is unknown what will be available.
Also, during Fall Fest is a Midnight Monster Click-To-Win that lasts until September 26. Every day gives a surprise!
The eStore usually sells special items for the event, such as scarecrows, mills, tractors, and I think they have an applesauce making device?

Play the actually challenging (it takes forever to find those articles they send you to search for!) School Time Terrier Treasure Hunt, the prize for which is, well, a School Time Terrier figurine. This isn't for Fall Fest, but is Fall-related, and goes on until October 2. You can also do the Chillin' Out Polar Bear Treasure Hunt, whose prize I leave you to guess, but hurry--it ends when Fall Fest begins!

Wednesday Updates 7/18/12

The Berry Festival begins today!

As you may have heard from Webkinz Newz, today marks the beginning of the Berry Festival! This festival starts today, July 18, and ends on July 29.

During this festival, the following events will occur:

• Floating berries in Webkinz World! Wait for one to fly across the screen, then click on it for a delicious Berry. They actually fly by rather quickly and closely in between, and there are different ones each time they fly! (just take note; they fly by while playing Jumbleberry Fields, too, and if you click on one there expect a 5 minute Please Wait...break)

• Floating berries in Webkinz Newz, too! Here's their schedule; a new one flies each day in a cycle of Polar Berry, Jumbleberry, Sugarberry, Goo-Goo Berry, Pickleberry, and Moonberry. This click-to-win runs until July 29!
• They also moved Jumbleberry Fields to the top of the list of Arcade games.

Jumbleberry Fields finally received an update!

You can now buy Bonus Plays.

One bonus play costs 1.50$, 3 bonus plays cost 3.00$. (in eStore points)

You can choose your own prizes now, and they added new prizes!

No more will Webkinz World players have to wonder if they just spent the last month collecting Moonberries just to receive a duplicate prize! No longer will their Jumbleberry-themed room go unfinished because of a wrong prize! And in fact, they can add to those rooms, because there are new prizes!
Not only that, but you can see what prizes there are, too! Once you complete your daily play of Jumbleberry Fields and are taken to your collection of jars, you can click on the "Show Prizes!" button. Then click on any jar to see what prizes you can get from it!

Lots of things! The events seem to change with each stop the Van makes, but we do know that there are Zumbuddy tosses, Mazin' Hamster Pachinko, Hula Hoop contests, a Hug a Pug dance, Webkinz Trivia, and  a lot more! You can get prizes from almost everything, and people who have gone have brought back at least a couple of boxes of Webkinz plushes, Kinz Klips, Zums, stickers, and trading cards! If the event is held at a toy store, the store sometimes puts their Webkinz on discount for the event, and the van sells 5$ full-sized Webkinz, along with the month's new Webkinz pets, too!

I've had my account since March 22, and it and my Cat, Lettie, are doing fine. I am very much doubting that demo accounts expire, and I know that if you adopt a new pet onto it, that the account is granted full account privileges and you get to keep your Domestic Cat or Mutt.

And for Webkinz fans who use the eStore, it has been announced that for the entire month of May, the virtual-only Emerald Puppy will be for sale! Not only that, but those who purchase this pet first made available in 2010 will get a free Emerald Dragster!

And from this segment of the advertisement, it looks like the rest of the Birthstone Puppies will be available somehow during their respective months this year, too!

Ganz Reveals June 2012 List of Pets

Ganz has announced the plush Webkinz pets for June 2012, along with the July POTM.

June is going to be a rather meager month, with 2 Webkinz and 1 signature being released. And here they are...

The Summer Beaver, which is basically a pink, bipedal beaver with orange dots.

Can I make a small complaint for a second? They really need to learn how to adjust their camera settings. It just makes the Beaver look neon./endcomplaint
Moving on to our second pet, which is the Cocoa Lab.

Do not get this confused with the Chocolate Lab! The Chocolate Lab was released in 2009, is retired, has its Magic W on its back right paw, and looks like this:

That's my Lab, BTW. Her name's Ella.

The Signature for June is the Ragdoll Cat!

Simply gawgeous, dahling.

And July's POTM is the Puckerfish. what

Also, the Yellow Fluffy Cub and Tyrannosaurus, two new virtual pets, have been officially revealed on Webkinz Newz. (and it turns out that I was right, the T-Rex's PSI is named Amber Armchair)

The T-rex comes with an Amber Armchair PSI, and Gigantic Jawbreaker PSF.

The Yellow Fluffy Cub comes with a Totally Fun Toy Box PSI and Honeycomb Porridge PSF.

Way to Get Snowy Summit Wolf Revealed

Ganz has revealed how to get the Snowy Summit Wolf, a virtual-only pet announced January 14, 2012.

 

In an e-mail that Ganz sent out to Webkinz World members who have used the eStore in the past, Ganz has revealed that, for the low, low price of 75 US dollars, you, too, can possess an overpriced pixelated pooch.

...yes, this is another one of the promotions that Ganz is doing in which, along with the purchase of a certain amount of eStore points, you are given a free pet code. This promotion will be in effect from March 21 to March 25, 2012. After that, who knows when we'll see this pet for sale again?

Remainder of WKN Zodiac Event Prizes Revealed

Early in the month, Ganz began the Zodiac Click-To-Win event (which is currently functional, by the by), which is to run for most of the month. We only knew that we could win the whole Fire, Earth, and Water Zodiac costumes, and March 14 was an off-day, during which we'd be told what the prizes for the rest of the event are.

And now we know!

Potentially pointless trivia: according to the image locations of these pictures, they were uploaded in January 2011.

The costume will be given out in the order of pants-hat-shoes-top over the course of March 18-21.

Wednesday Updates 29/2/12

In a minor note, the icon for the KinzChat phone is slightly edited. Now it turns completely grey when off, has a slightly more noticeable antenna, is slightly larger, and has a very small glow.

 

1. Two new Challenges have been added.
2. Nafaria has returned.
3. The T-Shirt Designer and Solar Suit have been retired.
4. The Lorax gift boxes have arrived.
5. Webkinz World has begun a promotion for Mirror Mirror.
6.  Three contests, a Peek-A-Newz event, and a Click-To-Win have been scheduled at Webkinz Newz.

Sneak Peeks, Sneak Peeks Everywhere

Let's begin with the April 2012 pets.

The Springy Kangaroo comes with a Roasted Wild Grass PSF, and a Floral Pantry PSI. I predict that this perky pet will be pretty popular. (but how does one go about roasting grass without it just setting on fire?)

The Plumfadoodle comes with a Sour Plum Drops PSF, and Flower Patch Pond PSI. That is some colorful plumage this one sports! Still looking like the closest thing to a Webkinz flamingo we're getting. I love that they put ribbons on its PSF, that really finishes it nicely.

The Sloth comes with a Sweet Leaf Salad PSF and a Speedy Jungle SUV PSI. First off, I must say that I really like what they did with this guy's face! It's so inquisitive, yet simple! And they gave the sloth a car, heh.

The Sabertooth Tiger, despite my hopes for the contrary, comes with everything and looks exactly like its eStore counterpart. It comes with a Saberstripes PSI and a Prehistoric Pie PSF.

 The Bichon Frise comes with a Fluffy White Bubble Bath PSI, and a Cotton Kibble Candy PSF. Looks like real cotton! Wonder if it tastes the same...

The Pizzazzy Puppy is so going on my wish list comes with a Designer Gown PSI, and a Pinkberry Punch PSF.

The Signature King Charles Spaniel comes with a Palatial Platform PSI, and a Royal Feast PSF.


And, for a couple of surprise additions, we have the...

...Winged Tiger, which is the best virtual Webkinz ever--come on, how many Webkinz tigers have a freakin' pair of wings? It comes with a Kinz Air Pilot Outfit PSI, and an Airline Cuisine PSF. That must be a really nice airline to serve that elaborate of a meal. I think I see the Signature Orange Tabby Cat's PSF in there...

...we also have the Northern Trails Buffalo, which is pretty unique. One can never have too many buffalo. It comes with a Nomad Tent PSI, and a Prairie Grass Pudding PSF. It, too, is virtual-only.

And, as I thought, the Lil' Purple Piglet has triplets/siblings/clones/counterparts/etc..

They are the Lil' Blue and Lil' Green Piglets, and the three are identical in every way except for the color of their fur, PSI, and PSF.

Also coming soon to the eStore is the Sizzling Swan, a blazing bird that comes with a Firey Fountain PSI and a Fish Fillet Flambé PSF. A pretty PSI there, despite its blatant irony...

The 6th and final regular Webkinz plush of April 2012 is the Stormy Dragon, which sports lovely iridescent horns, feet, and a belly, an adorably goofy gaze, and an overall appealing appearance.

The Signature April 2012 pet is the Signature King Charles Spaniel, which is cute, even if it looks a little depressed...maybe that's because it's looking for a friend? *shrug*

Ganz Announces How To Find Webkinz Red Velvet Rabbit

Ganz has revealed how to obtain the Webkinz Red Velvet Rabbit in an e-mail sent to those who have used the eStore in the past. Apparently, upon purchasing an annual Webkinz World Deluxe Account, you are given a Red Velvet Rabbit code for free. This only applies to Memberships purchased between February 14 and April 30, 2012. This also applies to Deluxe account renewals made within this window.

Well, rats. I'd been hoping that this were a regular eStore pet, at least they can hold contests for those.

Wednesday Updates 04/01/12

There is also a Super School Day at the Kinzville Academy. During these Super School Days, every class a pet passes will count for 2 days of classes instead of 1.

After a short break, the first Wednesday updates of the year have arrived, and they bring many new and exciting additions to Webkinz World!

Four new Challenges have been added.
These Challenges are: 

• Journey to Treasure Island Challenge

This Challenge follows the theme of a pirate's adventures on the high seas in search of the legendary Treasure Island. This Challenge will be unlocked to those who have completed the golf-themed Webkinz Open Challenge. It has 4 sets of tasks to complete instead of the usual 3, so be prepared!

•    CampKinz Cookout Challenge

This Challenge is a fun trip through the forests to a CampKinz Cookout! This Challenge also has 4 sets of tasks, and will be unlocked to anyone who has already completed the Key to Kinzville.This is a Challenge that involves asking friends for assistance, much like the Christmas challenge in December.

• Goober's Assistant Challenge

This fun little Challenge features our good scientist Goober. You'll need to help him out by playing some games and collecting some items. Hope you're good at Goober's Lab! This Challenge has only 2 sets of tasks, and will be unlocked after the Meet Mr. Moo Challenge is complete.

• Egyptian Expedition Challenge

This Challenge has 3 parts, and is Deluxe Only. Players will get to prepare for a trip through Egypt, exploring the sands and finding ancient artifacts. It will be unlocked to Deluxe members who complete the All Star Astronomer Challenge.


The Winter Line has been unveiled at the KinzStyle Outlet!
This line consists of warm coats and sweaters, three pairs of boots, and even a hat and a dress. Save your coupons--the prices have raised considerably in comparison to the fall line. The items that make up this line are:

With these Party Packs, one can set up a wintery party at either their house (750 KC) or at the Clubhouse (1,000 KC). 

Also, don't miss the Polka Dot Welcome Mat, sold for 200 KC at the W-Shop. This is a piece of furniture that's sold to accompany the eStore Polka Dot Theme, but it's also very easy to use with any other theme. Though you should know that it's not really good value for 200 KC, as it barely takes up a corner of a single tile, and in-room, looks more like a bunch of circles somebody spilled while crafting than anything else.

Darling Dino and Holland Lop Bunny PSI and PSF Revealed!

The plush looked a little cute, but the sprite reminds me of a four-legged caterpillar of some sort, and the appearance that this pet is auditioning to be in one of the pageants in Toddlers and Tiaras do it no favors. And why are its front legs coming directly from its spine as if they were wings? 6/10

The Sparkling Sundae PSF looks as if it is made of foam, otherwise it appears to be fairly appealing. 9/10

I see no water in this "pond", but the foliage surrounding it makes for a pleasing display. 9/10

Overall opinion: 7/10 stars.

Everything about this pet is perfect! The simple design complements the well-blended colors, and the contented expression on this dear Bunny's face is actually soothing. There are so many names that would fit swimmingly with this pet--Butterscotch, Caramel, Maggie, and Patsy all come instantly to mind. 10/10!

The PSF of a Carrot Cream Cone has a very appealing appearance in both color and design. It's made perfectly for the sweet pet it was created for. 9/10

The PSI of a Homemade Carrot Juicer was made well. The carrots inside the juicer look a little off, but I would still love to see this invention in action. I wonder if it will give you some Homemade Carrot Juice to snack on? How cool if this is so! 10/10!

Overall opinion: 9/10

Oh, and BTW here's the Bubblegumasaurus PSI and PSF, which was probably never announced in November because:

 

A fortunate piece of news for those who didn't want to go through an online transaction for the Bubblegumasaurus, but nonetheless I am a little disappointed that the plush Bubblegumasaurus matches its eStore ascendant to the letter. Now why this is so is beyond me...
